Review Policy

Effective: October 22, 2026

Reviews help members of RecycleVAR decide who to trade with. To keep them useful and fair, every review must follow this Review Policy. By submitting a review you agree to this policy and to our Terms of Service. If they conflict, this policy applies to reviews.

1. Who Can Leave a Review

  • You must be a signed-in member with a verified email address, acting on behalf of the company on your account.
  • You may only review a company you have actually dealt with on RecycleVAR: you exchanged messages, one of you quoted the other's wanted (WTB/RFQ) post, or you sent the company an inquiry. The review form is only available once such an interaction exists.
  • Each company may leave one review per company it has dealt with. You may update your review later; an updated review must follow this policy again.
  • You may not review your own company, a company you own, work for or are affiliated with, or a direct competitor you have not done business with.
  • A company may post at most five reviews in any 24-hour period.

2. What a Good Review Contains

Describe your own, first-hand business experience with the company, for example:

  • Communication and responsiveness
  • Whether parts matched the listing (part number, condition, quantity)
  • Packaging, shipping time and tracking
  • Payment, invoicing, returns, warranty and how problems were resolved

Reviews must be at least 20 characters and at most 2,000 characters, and the star rating must reflect the experience described.

3. Prohibited Content

Reviews must not contain, and will be refused or removed if they contain:

  • Profanity or obscene language, including disguised spellings (for example with symbols or numbers in place of letters).
  • Hate speech, slurs or discrimination based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability or age.
  • Threats, harassment or intimidation of any person or company, or encouragement of others to harass them.
  • Personal information, such as email addresses, phone numbers, home addresses, or private details of individuals.
  • Links, advertising or solicitation, including promotion of your own company, products or prices.
  • Sexual, violent, illegal or otherwise objectionable content, or spam.
  • Statements you know to be false, or accusations of crimes (such as fraud or theft) that you cannot support with facts from your own dealings.
  • Confidential information, such as the other party's pricing agreements, contracts or trade secrets, unless they agreed to its disclosure.

4. Fake and Manipulated Reviews

  • Do not post reviews for a company in exchange for payment, discounts, free goods, or any other benefit, and do not offer such benefits to obtain reviews.
  • Do not ask, pressure or threaten a member to post, change or remove a review, and do not use multiple accounts or companies to review the same company.
  • Do not post reviews to damage a competitor or to retaliate for a review you received.

Violations may lead to removal of all affected reviews and suspension or termination of the accounts involved.

5. How Reviews Are Checked and Moderated

  • Reviews are checked automatically when submitted. A review that breaks the rules in Section 3 is refused and you are told why, so you can rewrite it.
  • RecycleVAR moderators may review, hide or remove any review that breaks this policy or our Terms of Service, and may restore a review after a report is resolved. We do not remove reviews simply because they are negative.
  • Any member can report a review using the "Report" link. A review reported by several members may be hidden until a moderator has looked at it.
  • We may ask a reviewer or a reviewed company for evidence (for example an order, invoice or messages) when a review is disputed.
  • Moderation decisions are made at RecycleVAR's discretion and are final, but you may contact us through the contact form to ask us to reconsider.

6. Responsibility for Reviews

Reviews are the opinions of the members who write them, not of RecycleVAR. RecycleVAR does not verify every statement in a review and is not responsible for its content. You are solely responsible for the reviews you post and for making sure they are truthful and lawful. You agree to indemnify RecycleVAR against claims arising from your reviews, to the extent permitted by law.

7. License

You keep ownership of your review. By posting it, you grant RecycleVAR a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to display, reproduce and distribute it on RecycleVAR and in materials that describe the companies on RecycleVAR, and to show your company name as the reviewer.

8. If You Are Reviewed: Public Replies

  • Members of a reviewed company may post one public reply under each review of their company, and may edit or remove it.
  • Replies follow the same rules as reviews (Section 3): no profanity, insults, threats, personal information, links or advertising. Keep replies factual and professional, for example thanking the reviewer, explaining what happened, or describing how the issue was resolved.
  • Do not reveal confidential details of the transaction (such as private pricing) without the other party's consent.
  • RecycleVAR may hide replies that break this policy. The reviewer is notified by email when a reply is posted.
  • If you believe a review breaks this policy, report it and tell us why. Please do not contact the reviewer to pressure them, and do not post a retaliatory review.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The effective date above shows the latest version. Reviews posted or edited after an update must follow the updated policy.
